  • Both Hepatitis B and C spread through infected blood. A very minute quantity of blood is sufficient for transmission of infection.
  • Always use a new blade when having a shave at the barber’s shop.
  • Ask the barber to use new blade also for adjusting hair line.
  • Agree for blood transfusion only when it is very necessary.
  • Before transfusion, blood should be screened for Hepatitis B & C.
  • Get vaccinated for prevention from Hepatitis B.
  • Always insist to use a new syringe for injection at the doctor’s clinic

ICSP publishes a monthly magazine named Jahan-e-Sehat. The magazine is designed to promote infection prevention and control practices, among the public. The magazine is available free of charge to the members of ICSP, and is available to non-members at Rs. 100 per year. Contributions to the magazine by the members of ICSP as well as non-members are welcomed. Submissions may include research projects, literature reviews, case studies, clinical findings, surveillance outcomes, reports, book / article reviews, product reviews and letters.
